5 star hotel Very nice reception. The staff were very polite and willing to help. The ambience is such a calm and luxurious place. The pool side is a lovely view, with the gym in the corner. The food was amazing ? my compliments to the chef. The meeting rooms were well insulated, well lit and overall just very comfortable. Was a great time there, would visit again.

As you come through the swinging doors, the welcoming staff usher you into its beautiful reception.
Upstairs, the room is clean and fitted with quality furniture - especially the bed.
There’s lots of wardrobe space to hang your clothes and accessories.
At breakfast, I was spoilt for choice with the range of food each day.
Overall, I recommend this hotel as it is maintained to the highest standards and the room service is excellent.

Rooms are noisy, you can hear anything your neighbors do (I mean anything...). Lounge, restaurant, and poolside are nice enough. The gym is very basic. Not 5 star quality by international standards, so for foreigners visiting, lower your expectations.

I stayed here in March 2024 and in January 2025. I will stay here again if I need a hotel in Lagos because overall, it’s good. However, there are opportunities for improvement.
Rooms: During my December stay, we were consistently provided with two few towels that we needed for our room. For example, two people in one room and they consistently provided only one washcloth. I think their bathrooms are a bit of a trip hazard. The bottom of the bathtubs are not textured, and the side walls of the bathtub are higher than standard height compared to the US standard and for elderly folks this would be a challenge. The floor mats in the bedrooms beside the bed do not have grippers underneath them, so they consistently slide when you step on them - that is also a bit of a trip or fall hazard. About 3 times a day, you will hear a very short crackling sound from the PA system in your room. Seems it was more annoying during my first stay but it was better during my second stay.
Service: The service for food, especially when you order off the à la carte menu, is extremely slow. During my December to January 2025 stay, one night, there were only seven people in the restaurant and it took us about an hour to get our food. The same thing happened in the afternoons when we were at the poolside - the food took a very very long time to be served. Thankfully, the food is flavorful and satisfying, however the wait is still too long.
The general service for the pool area is also subpar. They do not have a supply of pool towels at the pool. For the two times we went to the pool, we had to request that someone be called to provide towels. The first day after we requested towels, a couple of towels were brought to us and the second day we requested towels, no towels were provided.
On the pro side, their food buffet is good. The gentleman who makes custom omelettes during breakfast does a very good job.
Location: The George Hotel location is great. Close to everything in Ikoyi and near Lekki. Unfortunately, one unpleasant experience you will contend with while outside at the poolside, is the very bad smell (not sure if it’s refuse or sewage) from a neighboring property that comes through with the breeze periodically.

This hotel is hands down one of the best hotels I've been to in Lagos. Right from the reception, I was hit with a luxurious feel.

The interior decor is top notch, and the artworks were sensational. Not to forget, the whole place had a sweet smell.

Tucked away inside Ikoyi. Beautiful in and out. Very quiet, meticulously groomed. Great pool side lounging area. Good food. Had to make an effort to get the attention of the waiters a few times, but it was during the Olympics so might be understandable. Great for meetings and to impress guests. Very upscale. For the discerning guest.

Very cozy place. In the heart of Victoria Island. Pool side is calm with really soft blues. Will recommend anyone who wants to enjoy a foreign service and vibes.
