When we booked this hotel we were not expecting much.
When we reached there, we were surprised how lovely it was. The service was great. Our host even volunteered to help park our car properly. The room was super cosy and a warm, very nice touch when it’s cold. Beds were comfy. The hotel arranged for dinner for us, as it was off peak season and only 2 restaurants were open.
So yes, the town is nice and staying in a cosy hotel made it even more special.

Not to be missed! It was a lovely experience in more ways than one. We learned of this hotel restaurant through a well-known travel guide. Located majestically along the Rhine, the hotel was unfortunately sold-out for one of the three nights sought. No worries! Instead a day trip to Bacharach was coordinated from Frankfurt, providing an opportunity to dine at this highly regarded restaurant. It is located along the picturesque Rhine which my wife has long dreamt of visiting. We walked hand in hand beside this gentle section of river ideally framed by rolling hills, vast greenery, and other natural rock formations. In the distance a river cruise ship was seen. This was a junction where beauty meets serenity. On this day, there was no better place in all the world. An elderly couple, apparently from Bacharach, asked in German, whether we could take their photo. Of course! By the way, most if not all the same sights could be also seen through a table-side restaurant window! Famished, the restaurant had closed, but the waitress kindly mentioned we could order from the appetizers menu. We both ordered miso soup made using shiitake mushroom, glasses of white wine, and with a bread basket to share. Delicious, five-star soup! The service was impeccable! Afterwards, we shared an ice cream sundae. Delicious! I wish I could say Yum in German! Our day in Bacharach had been spectacular. The restaurant choice had been the perfect topping to our day. Will we return? Most definitely! Oh, and before leaving town, we climbed the hill, located behind the hotel restaurant, to obtain the most majestic views of the town of Bachrach and the Rhine River valley. Do not miss this restaurant nor its inescapable views!

Do not ask Google to remove this review because you don’t like it. It’s what my family and I have experienced in October 2023. We had dinner at this restaurant for my husband's birthday. We were having a good time until I received my order, which was not what I had requested. We politely told the waiter and he, instead of apologizing for the mistake, accused me of changing my mind with the order. How is it possible for a vegetarian who had ordered a vegan schnitzel to suddenly change her mind and want a regular meat schnitzel? That does not make any sense, right? Well, I had to wait until I received what I had ordered in the first place when all the rest have finished eating, which is fine with me, but the problem was when we had to pay. They had charged for the other dish as well, when the waiter had told us they would have to throw it away anyway and asked if he should leave it on the table. It was not our intention to take this additional dish in the first place, but there was no way we were going to pay for the waiter's mistake. The owner/manager came to the table and instead of apologizing for the whole situation and a misunderstanding that was completely changing the lovely experience we were expecting, he just repeated what the waiter told him. With all the money we spent there and considering that the tip we were leaving was more than the amount of this additional dish, how could they assume we had lied, as if we had done it on purpose? We were completely disappointed with their reaction. I have worked in hospitality for many years and his behavior was not the smartest thing to do. It could have been easily fixed, also considering that we were super nice and understanding of the waiter's mistake. Please do not ask to remove a review that is true, just because you cannot accept to receive this kind of comments. I have the receipt and how to prove that we have been there that night. I hope that next time other ways to fix this kind of inconvenience can be found and give customers the experience they expect from such a restaurant.

A great hotel, highly recommended!! We were able to reserve a family suite (on the bottom floor), and this was the best room we stayed in during our entire two week trip - plenty of room, one queen and then two long twins that each have their own space in a separate nook - my teens greatly appreciated this set up. The mattresses were very comfortable, the room was clean and bright and seemed perhaps newly renovated. Strong A/C was a plus. The owner is very kind and accommodating - we forgot our adaptors in the last hotel (!!) and he had some for us to borrow immediately. Dinner in their restaurant was lovely, and breakfast buffet was a classic German affair with plenty to choose from. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for two nights earlier this month and it was delightful. The staff was all very helpful and gracious. Good breakfast with plenty of choices and the room was adequate for our needs. We had a small balcony which was nice. All good. I would stay there again if I ever go back.

Very nice old hotel in the centre area. The staff is really polite and the Restaurant is one of the best in the village. Please remember the hotel has no stairs and even if isolated from noise the train is passing next to it.

Gorgeous restaurant located in the city walls of Bacharach. Extensive wine list. High end dishes and beverage options. Lovely staff.

The Rhein Hotel is beautifully and conveniently located. It has charming rooms. The design is very clever in that the rooms seem much larger than they are. While not small, added space is gained by the clever shelving and cabinets. And the host is the anti-Basil Fawlty: friendly, proactive, and endlessly helping. He and the staff will make you feel like you’re at the Ritz in Paris. Let me put it this way: Beautiful Bacharach is worth visiting just to experience this hotel and its gourmet restaurant, Stüber’s, which will feature in a separate review.
