We had a very nice time at this Hotel. The service was very good. They could have come by and asked us if we needed drinks more, but it seemed like it was the off season. It was still easy to walk up to the bar and get drinks in between games we were playing. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There was a little noise that passes through the walls. Our view of the surrounding neighborhood was beautiful. It is located very close to the Main Street and great restaurants. Try Dostal Alley and Millie’s. The shower in the rooms was one of the better hotel showers I have ever used. The bed was comfortable enough but they don’t provide any supportive pillows, they were a little too soft for my sleeping style. The casino has tons of games new and old, plus they have table games as well. They provide multiple smoking patios to keep the inside smelling good. In all, it was a very nice experience.

I came to the realization that Central City is most definitely the less attractive, not quite as smart and abundantly less charismatic little brother of Blackhawk. It definitely sucks your money right out your pocket just like big bro though. While I was throughly underwhelmed with the town, there was a shining beacon and source of temporary comfort between losing my ass in the casino and being reprimanded by a frumpy and unpleasant troll of a manager at the Red Dolly(review to follow) for using the wrong tape-wrapped, 2nd gen. C-charger to try and revive my completely dead phone so I could pay my tab. That beacon was THE GRAND Z HOTEL AND CASINO. Wonderful front desk gentleman checked us in, and, even though he didn't put it in the system, he's was happy to accommodate my late check out request. Room was spacious, clean,and welcoming. Absolutely unbeatable at the pricepoint (sub $100 via priceline). No late night food options, but that was a theme throughout lil brother city so take snacks with you. There large fridge is more the enough room for some serious munchies. The have a dog park area on the third level, so I would assume they are pet friendly, but I didn't smell or hear any animals. Make sure to put up your Do Not Diturb sign. We had two knocks before our check out time from housekeeping and we had ours out. Eager to sanitize I suppose. Overall I recommend the Grand Z for your next stay up the hill. Just get a ride down to Blackhawk after you get checked in. Dueces...

Stayed here last minute while in the area. Our concierge provided an exceptional check-in. I didn't know what to expect upon arrival, and with what we were dealing with at the time, we greatly appreciate the service. Prabath is exceptional at customer service and providing a good customer experience! The entire interaction was positive and quite unexpected in today's world! I wish I took pictures. However, we were attempting to forget about our current situation, and I regretfully did not take pictures. The hotel looks fairly remodeled and/or updated. The room was clean, although small, but large enough. The casino is small but clean and has updated machines. Minimal waitress and bartender service, however, it was slow enough for a Saturday and Sunday that we felt we received good service and enjoyed the entertainment behind the bar with maintenance and the bar tenders!

Such a unique, we'll appointed property. It's not flashy, more reserved, but it's super fun, and we'll lighted. Has easy wheelchair accessability to all games and everything else. The carpet is a step and repeat pattern. Staff is attentive and friendly.

Everyone very welcoming and professional. Chuck the manager as most helpful. We had the most fun time. Went to the Grillfor dinner and after breakfast. It was delicious! We will definitely be back! The room was beautiful and the shower was great. Extremely clean and everything worked.

Overall me and my husband have always had a pleasant experience here. On our last trip there were a few hiccups. Our toilet overflowed and the maintenance guy just said he couldn't do anything because it was 3 in the morning and he was about to leave to go home. My husband got it unclogged and we were able to move rooms, but it just seemed kind of unprofessional. There was also a few hiccups with games eating cash, it happened two or three times, we were able to get it back, but each time it took a a little bit to get it working again. Also the bartenders were kind of hard to find and it was a little difficult to get service. I would understand on a busy weekend, but we spent Thursday night and Friday afternoon there. Minus that it was a really good and fun time for us! I especially have to give Doug a shout out, he was the best! Really appreciate him going above and beyond for us.

I stayed here for a few nights while traveling through CO.

The room was great, clean and comfortable. The only negative is that there was a lot of light at night: the curtains don’t close all the way, there’s light coming through under the door, and the thermostat backlight doesn’t turn off.

When I was waiting to check in the woman at the desk never acknowledged me. She helped the man in front of me for a very long time, chatting with him like no one else was waiting. Finally a young man came, apologized for my wait, and was very friendly and helpful. He continued to be helpful throughout my stay.
