Amazing Stay.. They were so accommodating when we arrived as we had a ski lesson booked. Got a room ready as soon as they could so we could check in before the lesson. Amazing food and the staff were exceptional. Rooms and the hotel itself was beautiful and the sauna and pool Amazing. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a fantastic experience.

The positive about the hotel is that everyone working there is very friendly and helpful . The rooms are spacious and clean, but there were no outlets by the bed which is a design error. We stayed in the main hotel and that’s a drawback as you have to cross the reception and Restaurants in a bathrobe to get to the wellness area . The outdoor pool is really nice but unfortunately we were never able to use the relax room as it was always full with people , which was disappointing. We eat primarily at the Fetzwerk which was open from 1 pm and had good options especially since we are vegetarians. All in all a good option if you stay in the area .

A small Hotel in a residential area but not far from the center. We had a "strange" room, number 12 3/4 instead of 13. No bad luck ! |It's on the ground-floor with a terrace a few steps away from the pool and beside the spa. |The room is the category "design comfort room ", nice bathroom with a rainshower, double sinks and a toilet with sliding door. The bathroom itself is open to the room. The room is rather warm, if you are used to sleep in a cold room, not perfect.|A garden und 2 Restaurants add to the comfort.

Been there with my lovely wife now for the third time - there will be more times. The place is well known for its excellent cuisine. However, it deserves same level of considration as a hotel. Superfriendly, Supersupportive, Supereasy.||||You get all the support you need. Insider information for your alpine trips. Bikes or E-Bikes for rent. You learn what to look out for and what not. ||||One word of warning though. If you expect a hotel machinery that does everything on autopilot - you are going to the wrong spot. If you are looking for true hospitality with real and original people - yep, this is the place to go.

Landhaus Freiberg is the smallest 4 star hotel in Germany with only 8 rooms. Staying here feels like you are in a private home. The Freiberg is a 100 year old home that was converted into a hotel by the granddaughter of the original owner. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked inside. Our room was spacious (#5) with a second bath upstairs. The leather sofa and chair were a welcome change to having to sit on the bed all of the time. The baths were sleek and modern. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs for relaxing outside and taking in the view. The only minor downside is that the hotel is located just around the corner from a through street that does have traffic in the mornings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

I was really looking forward to our stay at the Freiberg Romantik Hotel from viewing past comments on this site. I was also looking forward to eating at the restaurant (separate review). ||||Maybe the other rooms are different? We had the last available room due to late booking which was their basic double room. The decor is pretty hideous it has to be said. Purple shaggy carpet (I kid you not), yellow heavy ugly old fashioned 'bedspread' (I kid you not, which I took off the bed every day after the maid had done her thing, underneath were the usual two single white cotton duvets normal in Germany and Austria, the ugly bedspread needs to go!). The bed itself had been upholstered in the same odd yellow fabric of the bedspread and was strange in that one side had a bed head and the other side a bolster. The bathroom was clean, functional and reasonably modern but with a huge bucket thing with lid in which the hair dryer has pride of place and covered in advertising pamphlets. ||||The closet for folded clothes was difficult to open and close, very rickety. Maybe it's an antique and if so I'll forgive it's ricketiness but unless it's a great piece, which I highly doubt, it should be replaced with a working door. ||||Hanging space in the entrance way was adequate and there were a few hooks for ski gear which was at least one of the few practical areas of the room.||||The room itself was cluttered with what seemed like pamphlets and just... well... stuff. A good declutter is in order.||||The two windows (with beautiful views) were covered with net curtains using velcro as an attachment so you could not draw them and therefore we removed entirely. If you didn't do this on arrival you couldn't see out of the windows during the day so we took down the inner curtains. Another oddity.||||Breakfast was good. Quality cereals, good yoghurt and preserves. Adequate bread. Good cheese and ham. Eggs were charged additionally which I thought rather alarming considering the price tag of the hotel. The coffee was an absolute disaster. If this coffee is served in their Maximillans restaurant in the evenings then it's a complete abomination and should be reviewed with urgency.||Finally, the orange juice was not freshly squeezed which again at this price point and level of gastronomy of the in house restaurant I thought was below the standard required and expected. Friendly prompt service, a good selection of bread toppings and a 'nice', if little staid, setting made breakfast rather pleasant.||||The owners were friendly, helpful and responsive with email requests. The housekeeping was only just adequate. Our shampoo and body foam was not replaced during our 4 day stay. The towels were threadbare. The small touches were just not there.||||We skied in the 3 nearby ski areas, all offering different but great ski options for a day (we had three days of skiing) with fabulous mountain hut restaurants, a casual and easy going family ski environment and well groomed slopes. There is good parking at the base of the respective gondola stations (Neberhorn, Fellhorn and Söllereck) and the roads are well graded to make getting there by car doable even in snowy conditions. I'd recommend your warm up day at Söllereck, moving on to Fellhorn then Neberhorn if you are a beginner to intermediate. The top of Neberhorn is steeper than the other two.||||Oberstdorf itself is a complete delight and we loved it through and through. The village is as pretty as they come. It was snow covered when we were there. Lots of pedestrian zones and paths so that you can walk through the pristine snow without having to walk near a road which makes wandering to dinner and back at night in snow easy, beautiful and fun. There are a couple of very good restaurants in the village too (separately reviewed) and this is one of the loveliest German villages we have encountered. It rivals even Mittenwald, Lindau and Oberammergau for southern Bavarian beauty.||||Overall, I simply cannot recommend Das Freiberg hotel and if we were to return we'd stay elsewhere. This is one of the higher priced options in the village (if not the highest) and in a rare slip up in planning I chose the wrong hotel for us this time. Oh BTW great wifi. It was fast and never flicked off. One login and you're away. Wifi here was faultless no matter how many devices you had!||||It wouldn't take much to transform this hotel into something absolutely wonderful because the hosts are consumate and experienced, the position is very good and the building itself is utterly charming. In my opinion however, the purple carpet and hideous bedspreads have no place here. As it stands the hotel is stuck somewhere in the 60s to 70s (rooms and table settings included) and whilst they were great eras with decorative gems the only way they are replicated now is with a current fresh take rather than simply through lack of an update.
