When our mother, Mari, suffered a massive stroke, our families world was turned upside down. Navigating her recovery was daunting, but the incredible team at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital became a beacon of hope for our family. We are forever thankful for the outstanding care and compassion she received during her time there.

Tracy, her occupational therapist, was nothing short of amazing. She worked with our mom so patiently and always with such genuine care. Sierra’s dedication as a therapist also stood out, making every session impactful. Kylee and Maddy, her speech therapists, showed incredible patience and care, helping our mom find her voice again, which meant the world to us. We also highly recommend the music therapy as it plays a key role in recovery.

The physical therapists were equally impressive, consistently encouraging our mom and celebrating every small victory with her. And we would be remiss not to mention Eleanor, whose welcoming and energizing attitude brightened even the most challenging days.

The journey has been difficult, but thanks to the unwavering support and expertise of these extraordinary professionals, our mom is on a path to recovery we once thought impossible. We are forever grateful to the entire Brooks team for the impact they’ve had on our mother’s life.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ?

I just can not say enough things about Brooks. My husband had a stroke January 22,2024 and spend 1 month there and just finished his 2nd month there. They work you really hard to get you back to where you were before you had the stroke. They will never give up on you. I love that place and the wonderful staff that is so compassionate.

Brooks rehab was so awesome. Thank you so much for the care and hospitality. Much appreciated. Wish insurance would have let him stay longer because he was making great progress. Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Keep up the great work. Would recommend Brook’s to everyone.

During the past 6 weeks, two in ICU, two in progressive care and from there two weeks at Brooks Rehab Hospital. My husband Frank has been seen by numerous doctors.
The only Dr that stands out is Dr. Persaud
at Brooks Rehab Hospital on University Blvd.
He went above and beyond. He took the time to listen. He acknowledged Frank's dire circumstances. Dr. Persaud didn't just stand by, shake his head like the others.
Absolutely not! Dr. Persaud put into action the oath he took to save lives.
He genuinely cares and loves what he does.
It just naturally exudes from him.
Because of Dr. Persaud going the extra mile,
Frank is able to see a surgeon that specializes in the delicate surgery Frank needs, which is life saving.
Brooks is blessed to have Dr. Persaud!
We were blessed to have him enter
Into our lives!
Thank you, Dr. Persaud! You’re the BEST!

My Dad was admitted here 2 weeks ago after having a severe stroke. The therapist are phenomenal! Literally the best.

If you’re a veteran needing more than a couple weeks I’d look somewhere else. They won’t allow my dad to stay there a full 30 days despite the VA approval. They should be upfront about wanting to give beds to patients with private insurance. Instead, they lie and say he doesn’t need the additional two weeks. He can’t speak, walk, toilet himself, and still missing half his skull. They’re discharging him to a nursing home with a discharge plan that he needs OT/PT/ and speech therapy. Imagine that.

The facility is nice and clean, but like most places the nurses and CNA’s are hit or miss. His feeding tube was accidentally removed and he had to have it replaced as well. My Dads girlfriend has to be there at meal times to feed him, otherwise he will be alone eating with high risk of choking or he doesn’t eat at all. The case manager doesn’t work daily and the lack of communication is frustrating. If you have private insurance then this place will probably be great for you. Not sure if I should be upset that the VACCN is so cheap, or that places like this charge $10,000 a week.

*Update: My Dad was discharged today and they were so ready to get him out they paid for the medical transport. He was sent to the nursing home without his medications or even a list of them, the bed doesn’t have bed rails, among other safety concerns. He was sent there without a proper fitting helmet and no high back wheel chair either. The incoming facility had zero clue he had a feeding tube, or that he was unable to toilet himself. He’s sitting in bed with no rails and no medical call button only a manual bell to ring if he needs assistance. Mind you he’s paralyzed on one side, missing half a skull too. Non verbal at that.

It is proper procedure for facilities to do the necessary checks to ensure a patient in his condition is going to a safe place. They failed big time. I will see to it that I file a formal complaint for your negligence. Ridiculous and sad how you treat veterans.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay. My team of therapist were top notch. Everyone made me feel special and made me feel like I was the only one there. I never heard anyone complain. The nurses, CNAs, and the doctors were also outstanding. I will recommend this facility to everyone.
