If you're looking for a no-frills but comfortable place to stay, this hotel fits the bill. The rooms are simple but clean, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Great location for exploring the area, and the price can't be beat.

PERSONALLY GIVE NO STARS!!!!

I booked an handicapped accessible room for my brother who came in town from CA, I myself came in from OH Nov 8-11, 2024.

When he checked in he wasn't given the room requested. When asked the manager had the most nastiest attitude, she would say that that kind of room wasn't ordered but would look at the receipt that I had for proof.

The hotel was terrible, horrible!!! It smelled of mildew which you saw everywhere, curtains torn up, the carpet looks as if you have cords running under it (which means it has black mold under it), rooms were set with 1 set of towels for a king size room (when calling the front desk, a handicapped person was told they could come down for towels, then waited 1 1/2 hours to get towels), bathtub & sink had standing dirty water.

Once I got to the hotel the manager called the police with her scary ass, she thought I was going to allow her to continue her screaming and talking to me like my money didn't pay in advance for this nasty ass hotel, but when the police arrived she didn't want me removed from the property because she wasn't willing to refund my money.

When he checked out management says she couldn't give us a receipt since it was paid via third party but my deposit was paid on the property and wouldn't give a receipt for that.

I have contacted the Health Department for an investigation and possible closure of this property. They truly giving Wyndham a bad name and taste in people's mouth!!!!!

I have other family who will also be making reviews.

I stayed at Baymont by Wyndham Merrillville for a weekend getaway, and it was amazing! The staff was incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. The room was spotless and smelled fresh, and the bed was super comfortable. Definitely coming back!

Horrible experience. Room was booked under my name for my sister. Asked them before hand if that is ok if I add her to the booking, but did not allow it and made her book a new room and charged double. For the old booking the policy is to take the first night cost for no show and return the rest. Changed me the whole 3 days. They don’t follow the Wyndham hotels policy. They have their own policy for cancellation. When I tried to call, Mary the front desk lady only gives out the email and no one responds to that email. Been more than a month. When called Wydham directly, they don’t have any info other than the infamous Gmail. Mark, the manager is never at the property to answer.

It’s an embarrassment to have the Wyndham name on such a trashy hotel. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I refuse to stay in any other Wyndham hotels. From now on Hilton or Marriott. Save yourself the headache.

Heed this warning-DO NOT STAY HERE! This deserves 0 stars. I booked and paid for 2 rooms here in July 2024. We walked in to a lobby of people, with one young man having difficulty with his grandparents room key. Would not work, within that 15 minutes, he came back 3 times because it never worked. Turns out several other guests had the same problem. This was our first red flag. The front desk got our name and said “let me see if your room is clean.” Said it was (we checked in after 3). On the way to rooms- elevator smelly, so took stairs, stairs filthy, hallways filled with trash, rooms HORRIBLE. Dirty walls, fixtures, bathrooms, linen. We immediately left room and went to front desk to find that other people were there about the condition of their room. Same exact issues. They demanded a refund and left. We did the same and were given an email to contact that following Monday to make sure our refund was completed. We did, and no reply to ema, they never even opened or read it (had read receipt). Would not answer their phones. Contacted them several times. No response! Unfortunately had to contact bank.

We had five rooms for our family to enjoy the weekend before school started back. It was one of the worst experience I've ever seen for the price they wanted for each room. Very nasty smell floors very dirty. Nets flying around bathroom smelling like pee bed had no blanket. The swimming pool was so dirty it look like slime ? ? was in the water. We check out right away no one unpack anything at 5:20 pm check in 5:35 pm at the front desk ask for a refund 5 room one room smell like a die rat or something. The refuse to give us our money back 1600 dollars. We call the police they didn't do anything you people are very wrong treating people like this online the pictures are all a lie. Not one room was worth a dog starting in it. Unprofessional all day 24/7 just want our refund never use your services. So pay all of the money you own thank you!!!!!!!!!

Excellently maintained motel with tastefully supplied rooms presenting a coffee machine, microwave, and mini refrigerator. We chose to spend the night time within the bed as it turned into so comfy. The cleaning group turned into also pretty excellent. Many eateries and convenience shops are within the vicinity. We had a wonderful visit, especially thinking about the price. Thanks

Last room available.

Flooded bathroom, the girl gave us towels to put on the floor since no maintenance was available. Huge stain on the mattress. Fitted sheet that did not fit. Raised carpet with exposed wires.
Toilet paper holder coming off the wall.
Cracks in the ceiling.
A small bug (which I killed and didn't tell my husband because we would be sleeping in the car).
The room was not clean!

Did not sleep very well that night.
The little food there was for breakfast was abysmal. We did not touch it.
I requested a deep discount on the room which was $222.38, that night and again in the morning.
Have not heard from the hotel management yet, I complained to the evening clerk who said she notified management. Complained to the morning clerk , who looked like he just rolled out of bed.

I will be taking this problem up with my credit card company.

It is an embarrassment for this hotel to be part of the Wyndham group.
